John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado that specialized in folk music, has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. More than a few people traveled through Colorado following the Denver's cult anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated the following: John Denver was by far one of the most well-known musicians who was a symbol of Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever inductee. Denver has become the image of Colorado for a lot of people all over the world. Through my many travels, I have met many individuals who do not hail from Colorado. They'll beg, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you come from Colorado. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time in folk groups which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff was credited with Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver realized that it could turn into a hit once he heard an earlier version. The song was performed on stage in Washington D.C. to a huge crowd, the singer made a recording a few days afterward.
